Mini LP Tutorial

I am so in love with these digital vinyl blank cds.

And I was putting together a couple of mixes for a friend, so I decided to go all out Mini LP.

I tore apart an old LP sleeve and cover to see how they were constructed. DON’T WORRY. It’s from my stash of unusable vinyl (AKA scratched, moldy, bent, my seventh copy of Herb Albert and the Tijuana Brass) that I use for crafty fun.

The Materials:
-tracing paper
-cardstock
-pencil
-scissors
-paper trimmer
-glue
-an amazing mix
-some creativity in decorating

The measurements have been lost in the sauce. But I just used the cd as a guide and made the tracing paper about 1/4″ larger all around so it would slide in nicely.

There’s probably a nicer way to do this. Double-sided tape, perhaps? I was in the moment. Forgive me.

Snug as a bug!

On to the cover!

And there she is!

I used the colors of the cd’s as my inspiration, but go CA-RAZY.

If you ever want to swap mixes, let me know. I live for music.

  1. Hey Mallory,

I saw your comment on Blue Collar Catwalk and when I read that you like De La Soul, I had to check out your blog. I love music and so many different genres! I just posted a review of Watch the Throne on my blog, so as a music lover you might enjoy.
