Recently posts are a lovely little patchwork of those random moments that happen through the week.

We’ve been drinking Green Monsters every morning. Delish and nutrish!

Teachin my BFF new tricks.

Ugh, this dog.

My brother-in-law likes to mess with the settings when a movie is on in the background of a gathering. This is The Big Lebowski, with French subtitles, zoomed in 4x, and slowed down 4x. What a wonderfully, weird man.

Yet another surprise party for a friend. This time at a bowling alley. I won the second game! (with only 117….yeah, we don’t do this very often).

Don’t leave us to our own devices.

Tuesday Tunage.

Instead of featuring just whatever song I’m currently obsessing over, I thought I’d share some recent vinyl finds.

First though, some vinyl Holgas from early last year. I am soooo excited to shoot some color 120. The black and white medium formats turned out lovely and I have some ideas for colorplay with the new roll.

I am codirecting the musical this year, so I’ve got a few hours to kill between school and practice. Last week, I ventured out to Berlin to one of my favorite antique malls.

The booty:

This begins my girl group vinyl mission.

I’ve been known to throw a killer dance party. Non-stop disco sounds like some fun.

That musical I’m directing is Beauty and the Beast. No wonder it caught my eye. The funny thing to me was that handwritten note near the title that reads, “Too old for Kindergarten”.

I was big into bellydancing for awhile and I definitely still bust those moves out whenever it’s, uh, appropriate. I foresee a bellydancing vinyl session in my near future….

My collection of 45s is laughable at best.

One of my bffs gave me this amazing little 45 container for Christmas. A GIRL AFTER MY OWN HEART.

And my little sister Rachel made this for me.

I love collectin this stuff.

One of our favorite Dutch treats.

Dave Hammer’s Power Supply was quite a lovely little surprise on a snowy night.

The vet commented on how much white he’s got on his lips now.
It’s okay, Pietje. Silver Foxes fo life!

I’ve been working on mail projects. Ya’ll better watch out.

Found this on an emergency antique mall visit (this is not the first one of those in my life). IT FREAKIN ZIPS. So incredibly awesome.

Sick again.

So many blogs posted about New Year’s resolutions, and though I do have them, the more pressing thing I need to do before I start tackling those goals is to get better. I don’t think I’ve been healthy for longer than a week before I catch some cold, flu, or infection. It’s been going on for three years now. I know that young teachers often face this, but this time has really got me frustrated.

My doctor is the same guy that brought me into this world. He always treats everything as simply as possible, which is nice when I just got poison ivy again or something. But after three years of constant sickness, I’m wondering if I should start trying to figure out why I am so susceptible to….everything.

We’ve been drinking A LOT of tea in this house. Right now I am currently obsessed with Celestial Seasonings True Blueberry.

Being home three days of the week wasn’t all bad…gave me some time to have pitiful dance parties with the dog.

I’ve only ever been able to find these Junior Caramels at the local dollar store, but they are my favorite candy and totally make me feel better for five minutes.

Lots of snugglin happenin up in here.

I’m going to try drinking Green Monsters this week and get back into regular 3x weekly, low impact exercise regiment: mainly yoga and dogwalking. Zumba starts back up next month so I’m trying to build up slowly for it.

Any tips for healthier living on a daily basis? Recipes, vitamins, ANYTHING?!
I just want to feel good for awhile.

This is an ongoing series of the various collections in my life.

Today’s collection features some of my B&W photography from the last wet lab class they ever offered at Kent State in 2005. I am so grateful I got to learn how to develop and print my own photos before they tore down the lab.

I have nearly all the equipment I need to start developing again in my basement. Most of my excitement comes from the weird techniques I can begin to play around with after I get comfortable with the processes again. If you have any interesting or useful resources that relate to the darkroom, I would love to see them!

So we’ve recently discovered that Stevo is quite the chef. I’ve been demanding this French Toast every single day since he made it. It doesn’t work quite as often as I would like…

Sonic is still a lot of fun.

Good one.

A little peek at the bike that made me cry at Christmas…. My dad also had the only bike my mom has ever owned refinished and it looks amazin as well. We’re still working on it so it will be awhile. But I’m determined to finish this project with STYLE.

Awhile ago I sang in two different weddings for two amazing friends. For their gifts, I created a piece of artwork for them to remember the song I learned for them. Abby just posted this picture of how she decided to hang it and it looks great. Here’s Emily’s.
