Sick again.

So many blogs posted about New Year’s resolutions, and though I do have them, the more pressing thing I need to do before I start tackling those goals is to get better. I don’t think I’ve been healthy for longer than a week before I catch some cold, flu, or infection. It’s been going on for three years now. I know that young teachers often face this, but this time has really got me frustrated.

My doctor is the same guy that brought me into this world. He always treats everything as simply as possible, which is nice when I just got poison ivy again or something. But after three years of constant sickness, I’m wondering if I should start trying to figure out why I am so susceptible to….everything.

We’ve been drinking A LOT of tea in this house. Right now I am currently obsessed with Celestial Seasonings True Blueberry.

Being home three days of the week wasn’t all bad…gave me some time to have pitiful dance parties with the dog.

I’ve only ever been able to find these Junior Caramels at the local dollar store, but they are my favorite candy and totally make me feel better for five minutes.

Lots of snugglin happenin up in here.

I’m going to try drinking Green Monsters this week and get back into regular 3x weekly, low impact exercise regiment: mainly yoga and dogwalking. Zumba starts back up next month so I’m trying to build up slowly for it.

Any tips for healthier living on a daily basis? Recipes, vitamins, ANYTHING?!
I just want to feel good for awhile.

  1. Oh man, that stinks! I asked my coworker who is married to a nurse and he just said to never ever touch your face. That in an F Scott Fitzgerald book he was talking about a couple who was very refined, evidenced by the fact that they never touched their faces. Doubt that helps.
Exercise helps me a lot, at least in terms of feeling better about life. If you’ve not tried 30 Day Shred, I encourage you to. It’s only 20 minutes and I do it on days where I can’t get to the gym.

  2. I’ve thought about doing the shred…. I still battle with my stamina even a few years after having mono, so yoga is really good for that. I love Zumba but I def need something else to supplement those things. I’ll try it out!

  3. fun fact: nobunny once gave me his copy of that utopia record thats in your photo, and told me, “listen to this and you’ll realize where i ripped off all my nobunny material!”

  4. Oh man, Erin! Nobunny’s Mess Me Up is the perfect mix of That’s Not Right by Utopia and Turn Me On by the Riff Doctors. My sister’s and I cover that Nobunny song!
