So many blogs posted about New Year’s resolutions, and though I do have them, the more pressing thing I need to do before I start tackling those goals is to get better. I don’t think I’ve been healthy for longer than a week before I catch some cold, flu, or infection. It’s been going on for three years now. I know that young teachers often face this, but this time has really got me frustrated.
My doctor is the same guy that brought me into this world. He always treats everything as simply as possible, which is nice when I just got poison ivy again or something. But after three years of constant sickness, I’m wondering if I should start trying to figure out why I am so susceptible to….everything.
We’ve been drinking A LOT of tea in this house. Right now I am currently obsessed with Celestial Seasonings True Blueberry.
Being home three days of the week wasn’t all bad…gave me some time to have pitiful dance parties with the dog.
I’ve only ever been able to find these Junior Caramels at the local dollar store, but they are my favorite candy and totally make me feel better for five minutes.
Lots of snugglin happenin up in here.
I’m going to try drinking Green Monsters this week and get back into regular 3x weekly, low impact exercise regiment: mainly yoga and dogwalking. Zumba starts back up next month so I’m trying to build up slowly for it.
Any tips for healthier living on a daily basis? Recipes, vitamins, ANYTHING?!
I just want to feel good for awhile.
I’ve been extremely introspective lately. The last few years of my life have spurred changes in me that I still don’t totally understand. I have a really hard time talking to people about these things, but I’ve discovered something that I think is really helping me.
750words.com is a platform for writing stream of consciousness….whatever. You just type what is on your mind, and if you reach 750 words a day, you accumulate points. The points really only are motivation to continue writing, but I’ve been finding it’s not as hard as you think it would be. They also create statistics based on what you’ve written, and these stats have proven to be both hilarious and extremely insightful. Check out mine from December 19th to see what I’m talking about.
I’m on a four day streak and I truly believe it is helping me get a better grasp on the things in my life that confuse me. I hope to use this as a platform for song writing once I work through all the weird stuff in my brain.
And share your stats link with me. I’d love to see them.
I came across this list from The Fox is Black and it really spoke to me (for some obvious and not quite as obvious reasons). Woody Guthrie created this list of resolutions for 1942 entitled “New Year’s Rulin’s.”
