Petunia

We’ve welcomed a new member into our little family. Not ready for the human version, but another furry one will do just fine.

Please welcome Petunia!

She’s pretty amazing.

I’ve only ever given one detention in my entire teaching career and that was just a joke. Instead, if a kid says something they shouldn’t, they have to put something in the jar. Sometimes they give me sticks of gum, their exacto knife, loose change, wooden cut-outs of my name they make in shop class. But when the kids started making rage faces of me, I knew the jar needed remodeled.

Firsties!

My little cuckoo clock family left me the other day. I feel a little empty inside.

YIKES. Dropping your MacBook definitely makes your heart skip a beat. Luckily, no damage.

“CHEEEEEEESE.”

I started to get a little worried when they began reorganizing Ikea last year.
BUT I FOUND IT.

The set is coming along. Not quickly, but nicely.

So happy to be able to play outside again.

My part of Ohio was under a winter weather advisory the last few days. Not too much snow, but anything is better than nothing. I love winter and I’ve been really disappointed this year.

I liked this color combo.

You miss one day of school and this is what you come back to.

Favorite movie moment….ever.

Another cool project myself and the Art Council have been working on. The teacher I replaced (no worries, she just retired) is carving a brick wall sculpture displaying the many aspects of our interesting and history filled community. Neat!

Ongoing fortune cookie joke. This was a particularly good one.

Snazzy kicks.

We’ve been drinking Green Monsters every morning. Delish and nutrish!

Teachin my BFF new tricks.

Ugh, this dog.

My brother-in-law likes to mess with the settings when a movie is on in the background of a gathering. This is The Big Lebowski, with French subtitles, zoomed in 4x, and slowed down 4x. What a wonderfully, weird man.

Yet another surprise party for a friend. This time at a bowling alley. I won the second game! (with only 117….yeah, we don’t do this very often).

Don’t leave us to our own devices.

One of our favorite Dutch treats.

Dave Hammer’s Power Supply was quite a lovely little surprise on a snowy night.

The vet commented on how much white he’s got on his lips now.
It’s okay, Pietje. Silver Foxes fo life!

I’ve been working on mail projects. Ya’ll better watch out.

Stripez.

Found this on an emergency antique mall visit (this is not the first one of those in my life). IT FREAKIN ZIPS. So incredibly awesome.

So we’ve recently discovered that Stevo is quite the chef. I’ve been demanding this French Toast every single day since he made it. It doesn’t work quite as often as I would like…

Sonic is still a lot of fun.

Good one.

A little peek at the bike that made me cry at Christmas…. My dad also had the only bike my mom has ever owned refinished and it looks amazin as well. We’re still working on it so it will be awhile. But I’m determined to finish this project with STYLE.

Awhile ago I sang in two different weddings for two amazing friends. For their gifts, I created a piece of artwork for them to remember the song I learned for them. Abby just posted this picture of how she decided to hang it and it looks great. Here’s Emily’s.

Haven’t been thriftin much lately, but when I do, I try to make it count.

Saw my pal’s band The May Company at Musica in Akron. They’ve got a really cool sound.

Painting a BFF’s toe is much more difficult than it looks.

Self portrait?!

Open Mic at Rascals. Always interesting…

My antique adventure pal Abby and I checked out the I-76 AAA Antique Mall. As per usual, we found treasure and also found things that will haunt your dreams until the day you die. Wouldn’t want it any other way.

Sushi Monday is the best thing everrrr. Sweet Potato is just divine.

We celebrated St. Nicholas (or as I annoyingly refer to it, Dutch Christmas) this year! We exchanged a gift on the 5th. Because I wash my hands probably 30 times a day in the art room, Stevo got me a paraffin hand dipper thingy© and it is the best thing I’ve ever done for my poor, beat up hands. Thanks, Sinterklaas!

How intense.

Perpetual Kid is the best company ever.

My Baby Friend Forever has names for me now.

*heart swell*

My dad was editor of his yearbook. Among many other bad things that were somehow overlooked by the folks who were supposed to be in charge, he snuck into the photos of many clubs he wasn’t actually a member of, such as Art Club. My Art Club finds this particularly funny.

Fave.

My sisters and I got to record a jingle for the local radio station. I’ll make sure you get to hear this hilariousness as soon as possible.

WAKE UP NANCY.

I swear I’ve been taking this photo over and over for years.

We had a lovely, quiet Thanksgiving. Perfect.

The chance to include the Pterodactyl necklace in any outfit is always jumped on.

The shot I take every time I end up at the doctor. I have a lot of them. Sigh.

My friend Rit saved my life and fixed my record player. It had been a few months since any kind of tunage had happened with it. Very sad. But we’re back up and running and I even sort of made a dance party happen at Halloween. I could get used to that….

Stevo used a recipe from this website that recreates the food seen on Game of Thrones. This was a Black Beer Bread and it was awesometown. LEKKER.

The aligning of celestial objects.

We did our part. Brought down SB5.

This really freaks me out.
